Matte TPU colour-change wrap gives a flat, low-reflection finish that hides panel gaps and orange-peel texture, in a self-healing 6–8 mil film. Shimao supplies matte black, grey, white and cream rolls at 1.52 m width, one-roll minimum, with installation guidance for edges and recesses.
How do you clean matte TPU wrap without making it shiny?
Use pH-neutral shampoo, a soft microfibre mitt and plenty of water, then rinse and blot dry. Never wax, polish or use a brush wash: wax fills the matte texture and leaves glossy patches that cannot be washed out. For stubborn marks, a dedicated matte cleaner and a 30 cm distance on the pressure washer are enough.
Does matte TPU hide scratches?
Matte surfaces scatter light, so light wash marks and the fine scratches that appear on gloss film are far less visible. The self-healing top coat still works at around 40 °C. Deep scratches and scuffs remain visible because there is no reflection to hide them, and a damaged panel usually needs a re-wrap rather than a spot repair.
Which colours sell best in matte TPU?
Matte black, dark grey and white account for most volume, followed by cream and sand tones for SUV and pickup builds. Satin and matte finishes now cover roughly a third of colour-change demand in export markets. Shimao keeps 1.52 m rolls of the top five shades in stock for sampling.
