Satin PVC colour-change wrap is a 3–4 mil calendered film with a soft sheen around 25–35 gloss units, positioned between gloss and matte. Shimao supplies satin black, silver, grey and blue in 1.52 m rolls with a one-roll minimum for distributors and installers.

What does satin PVC look like on a car?

It reads as a semi-gloss paint: body lines keep a soft highlight, but there is no mirror reflection of the sky. That makes it forgiving on imperfect panels while still looking finished. In sunlight the colour looks 1–2 shades lighter than the same shade in gloss, so order a sample roll before a full build.

How long does satin PVC last?

3–4 years on vertical panels and 2–3 years on horizontal ones. The sheen drifts slightly flatter as the film ages, which is normal for PVC. Parking in shade and washing every two weeks with pH-neutral shampoo is the cheapest way to reach the upper end of that range.

Satin PVC or satin TPU?

Choose satin PVC for a short-term colour change, a trade-in or a fleet where cost per vehicle matters. Choose satin TPU at 6–8 mil for a retail customer who expects 5–7 years, self-healing and a deeper colour. Both install the same way, but TPU tolerates recesses and curves that PVC whitens on.
