Gloss PVC colour-change wrap is a 3–4 mil calendered vinyl with a high-reflection finish for full colour changes at an entry price. Shimao supplies gloss black, white, red, blue and silver in 1.52 m rolls with a one-roll minimum, and the film suits flat panels, roofs and fleet graphics.
How glossy is PVC wrap compared with paint?
Quality gloss PVC reaches 80–90 gloss units, close to a factory clear coat, and looks wet immediately after installation. It holds that level for 2–3 years before plasticiser migration dulls the surface. A ceramic sealant slows the drop and makes washing easier, but it cannot restore a finish that has already gone matte.
Where does gloss PVC work best?
Flat and single-curve panels: bonnets, roofs, doors, van sides and shopfront graphics. Deep recesses, bumper returns and mirror caps are better in TPU because PVC at 3–4 mil has less stretch before it whitens. For a show car or a long-lease vehicle, gloss TPU at 6–8 mil is the more durable choice.
How do you install gloss PVC without bubbles?
Keep the slip solution consistent, work in 20–25 °C, and squeegee from the centre out with 50% overlap. Gloss PVC shows trapped dust, so a clean booth matters more than technique. Post-heat edges to 60 °C and re-check door shuts and wheel arches after 24 hours, when the adhesive has fully wet out.
