# Warranty & After-Sales

Shimao (DongGuan Shimao New Material Technology Co.,Ltd) warrants its films against material defects under correct installation and normal maintenance. Warranty periods are stated per product line.

**Quick answer:** Shimao warrants its PPF and window film against material defects such as blistering, cracking and delamination for up to 8 years, provided a trained installer applies it to sound factory paint and the film is maintained as specified. Labour, freight and consequential costs are excluded.

## What does the warranty cover?
Material defects only: blistering, cracking, delamination, excessive yellowing and adhesive failure that appear under normal use. It does not cover stone chips, scratches, accidents, improper installation, abrasive cleaning or damage from a previous respray. Coverage runs from the invoice date and is limited to replacement film of the same specification.

## What voids the warranty?
Installation on rust, failing clear coat or a respray younger than 60 days; washing with abrasives, brushes or strong solvents; polishing matte film; and film applied outside the stated temperature range. Modifying the film, cutting into it or transferring it to another vehicle also ends coverage. Keep the invoice and installation photos.

## How do I file a claim?
Send the order reference, installation date, photos of the affected panel in daylight and a short description of the defect. The team reviews within 5 working days and may ask for a sample return. Approved claims are settled with replacement film, and shipping terms follow the original order.

## What is covered

Under correct installation and normal maintenance, material defects appearing within the warranty period are covered by free film replacement. Covered defects include abnormal blistering, delamination, cracking and fading.

## What is not covered

- Impact damage, scratches and abrasion caused by external objects- Chemical corrosion or staining- Improper maintenance or unsuitable cleaning agents- Installation errors and installer workmanship- Accident damage

## Installation requirements
