Gloss TPU colour-change wrap is a 6–8 mil self-healing film with a mirror finish that sheds water and closes light wash marks after a warm rinse. Shimao supplies gloss black, white, silver and colour-shift rolls in 1.52 m width, one-roll minimum, with private-label options for distributors.

Why does gloss TPU self-heal?

The top coat is an elastomeric layer that flows back into fine scratches at around 40 °C, so swirl marks from a wash mitt disappear in sunlight or with warm water. Deeper cuts from a scraper or a ring will not recover. Healing works on the clear top coat only, which is why gloss TPU holds its shine longer than PVC.

How do you keep a gloss wrap looking wet?

Wash every two weeks with pH-neutral shampoo and two buckets, dry with a microfibre towel, and avoid wax or abrasive polish. A ceramic-infused sealant every 6 months adds water beading and makes bird droppings easier to lift. Never use a brush wash or a high-pressure jet closer than 30 cm to an edge.

Is gloss TPU harder to install than matte?

Gloss shows every trapped speck and stretch mark, so it is the least forgiving finish to install, while matte and satin hide small defects. The film itself behaves the same: 1.52 m width, 6–8 mil, needing 60–70 °C post-heating on edges. Beginners should start on a flat panel and keep the slip solution ratio constant.
